Maria and Jordan came into Jacksonville in late October of 2024 for a friend’s wedding. They found me through a mutual friend and past client, and reached out about getting their engagement photos done while they were in town. (I was honored) 🥹
They drove in from Destin, attended their friend’s wedding on Saturday, and Sunday morning we met up to do their engagement photos. Talk about a busy weekend.
Jacksonville in the fall is truly a wonder. The mornings are cool and slightly humid, and the sunrises are always slow and spectacular. The leaves are just beginning to change, softly flowing in the wind and floating to the soft earth below.
Marisa and Jordan really wanted their photos in a space with lots of greenery (and a cityscape, but we’ll get to that part later!)
I sent them my location database for Northern Florida, which all my couples get access to once they book with me. The mission is always to make sure my couples feel taken care of and that they know all of their options so they can choose a location that feels like them.
They decided on starting their session at Willowbranch Park, right in the heart of Riverside in Jacksonville.
This park is one of my favorites, not only because of it’s tall variations of trees covered in Spanish Moss, but also because it’s down the street from my house! It’s the perfect area – serene and green with lots of open space.
What’s your favorite thing about being engaged so far?
We’re really loving getting to plan more of our future together.
If you had to pick one thing you love most about the other person, what would it be?
Marisa: I love his ability to stay calm and find the good in all situations.
Jordan: I love her drive, will, and determination to excel at everything she takes on.
What was your first impression of each other?
Marisa: I am sliding into that man’s DM’s tonight.
Jordan: This is the prettiest girl I have ever seen in my entire life.
The sun slowly started to come up above the horizon, so we snapped a few more photos in the golden rays of sunlight before moving on to our next location.
The next location they decided on was downtown Jacksonville. (we love a cityscape!!!)
Downtown Jax is gorgeous, especially in the morning. The sun was crisp and clear, adding a stunning light to the second part of their session.
We stayed on Adams Street, going back and forth between Hardwicks & the Bedell Building across the street.
Downtown is pretty tame on a Sunday morning, which was perfect for us. Some of the best city prompts include running across the street hand in hand. (It helps when the streets are practically empty.)
Our final stop was the Bedell Building, right across the street from Hardwicks. I still cannot get over how stunning the light is. It hits them perfectly!!
