Walker’s Landing on Amelia Island boasts a unique kind of southern charm, with 180 views of the marshland, the salty smell of the sea, and Spanish moss draped on every last oak tree in sight. If your heart sings for the coastal southern breeze, this venue will be the dreamiest place to you.
Getting to photograph Sean and Dalton’s wedding at Walker’s Landing was such a unique experience from start to finish. If you don’t remember Sean and Dalton, you can read about them and their engagement session here. With deep roots tied back to Amelia Island, and a family member of theirs who lives on Walker’s Landing, there was no other option for Sean and Dalton. They knew that Walker’s Landing was where they’d get married.

Walker’s Landing Wedding
I found Sean in the makeup chair when I arrived to her room at the Omni Amelia Island. I had my second photographer with the boys at the Omni Villas (on the same property). While the makeup artist put her finishing touches on Sean, I began the same way I usually do–with details. Pro tip: if you want to add some visual interest to your details photos, add fruit (I’m so serious!)
Before we knew it, it was time to get the girls on the shuttle that would take them to Walker’s Landing. The weather, while warm and steamy, was still stunning. A clear blue sky with rolling clouds in the distance made for the perfect atmosphere. Sean did first looks with her father, her stepfather, and finally, Dalton. (and yes, they were all incredibly sweet.)
After I stole Sean and Dalton away for a few pre ceremony portraits, they headed back into the reception space where they waited alongside the people they’d be walking down the aisle with. Sean and her bridesmaids had an impromptu moment on the dance floor to hype each other up and calm any pre wedding jitters. I think it worked pretty well.
The ceremony space at Walker’s Landing began to fill up with friends and family as the sun beamed through the Spanish moss. Their ceremony was perfect–calm, tearful, and full of laughter as Sean and Dalton became one under the canopied trees of Walker’s Landing.
While guests enjoyed the beginning of cocktail hour, we took the opportunity to take a few portraits of Sean and Dalton as a newly married couple. Some of the best parts of Walker’s Landing are the abundance of shaded areas, a myriad of trees, and an incredible view of the marsh that surrounds the property. We took about 20 minutes before Sean and Dalton joined their cocktail hour.
Walker’s Landing has the most incredible space for cocktail hour. Their wrap around wooden deck faces west and overlooks the beautiful marshland that North Florida has to offer. This day was particularly stunning–a few clouds rolled in to block out any direct sun and gave everyone some minor relief from the heat. Just wait until you see the sunset from their day!
This was one of those perfect wedding days where the bride and groom were able to relax and enjoy their cocktail hour (the benefit of doing a first look if photos are important to you!). Sean and Dalton got to snack, sip, and laugh with their guests.
As cocktail hour wrapped up, Sean and Dalton’s guests were ushered into the reception space at Walker’s Landing for dinner, toasts, and speeches. I loved that Sean and Dalton stood by the door, giving everyone the opportunity to say hello (it was so fun watching them interact with their guests!)
The toasts, speeches, and first dances were all so incredibly beautiful and heartfelt. I could really feel the love oozing from every corner of the room. Before the dance party started, we ventured outside to catch a few photos of the incredible sunset.
Sean and Dalton danced deep into the night with all their favorite people, popping champagne, cutting their cake (but not before singing into the cake knife like a microphone), and even doing an iconic dress change. It was quite literally the perfect day at Walker’s Landing and it was such an honor to be there with them. Congrats to the Boles!
