A truly iconic spot just down the road from historic St. Augustine. Steeped in beauty and history, Magnolia Avenue, adorned with mighty oaks draped in Spanish Moss, is quite possibly the perfect place to tell a piece of your fairytale love story. At least, that was the case for Caroline and Taylor.
On a sunny day in late March, Caroline and Taylor met me on Magnolia Avenue for their engagement session. Drenched in sunlight and delighted by the cool, light breeze of early Spring, we began our journey together.
Caroline + Taylor just recently purchased a home in St. Augustine, and wanted their engagement photos to reflect the start of their new life together here in North Florida. They will also be getting married in the area, which makes it all the more special.
What’s been your favorite part about being engaged so far?
We really love the feeling of maturing and growing up together.
If you had to pick one thing you love most about the other person, what would it be?
Caroline: I love his nurturing and protective instincts.
Taylor: Her emotional intelligence.
In one sentence, how would you describe your relationship?
Easy like Sunday morning.
We strolled down Magnolia Ave, stopping periodically for photo ops that came along.
Something so magical about North Florida in the spring is the Azaleas. They are in full bloom during late March, and their colors are vivid and plentiful – adding the most painterly-like touch to the world around them. We were lucky enough to find the perfect bush of Azaleas to snap of few photos of these two love birds.
We said our goodbyes to Magnolia Avenue and headed south toward historic downtown St. Augustine. The sun had begun to stretch our shadows and paint the world in a golden hue as we arrived at the waterfront. There’s nothing better than a stroll along the bay with your favorite person, am I right?
From here, we took a stroll to the Bridge of Lions and later on, the Castillo de San Marco.
The sun was setting fast, so we decided to make our way over to our final location – The Castillo, aka the fort.
Within a matter of minutes, the sky set ablaze with the most vibrant hues of pink and orange, it was truly a marvel – I’d like to believe that the sky did it just for us. (How true that is, I’ll never know).
These two couldn’t have chosen a better place or day to capture this season of their lives together. An incredible couple with a beautiful story, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it with them.
Caroline + Taylor will be exchanging their vows in front of their closest family and friends in November of 2025 in the St. Augustine area (and I’m SO freakin’ stoked to be there with them!!) Be on the lookout for their wedding day blog.
See you in the next one <3
With love,
Casey
