Central Texas is famous for its beautiful landscapes of the Texas Hill Country, it’s charming small towns, and its capital, Austin. One of the best things about getting engaged here, is planning a wedding here. If you’re in Austin or down I-35 in San Antonio and you’re looking for a special place to tie the knot, you may want to consider one of these places.
Sekrit Theater
Sekrit Theater is a beautiful, rustic venue that’s located in east Austin off highway 183. This venue is perfect for small, intimate weddings, proposals, and engagement sessions; it has a capacity of 22 guests inside the small greenhouse so it’s extra cozy and intimate.
Black and white checked floors, vines wrapping up and around the exterior, and a glass greenhouse with open windows is sure to give any couple a dreamy ceremony with lots of natural light. Don’t be swayed by the small space, the grounds are much larger and offers room for a huge reception after your ceremony. A half-day rental at this location (4-6) will run you $1500, and a full day (6-8) will run you $3000, which is an insanely great deal for the location and what it provides.
Interested in booking your wedding here? Get in touch with Sekrit Theater via email (info@sekrittheater.com) or head to their website to learn more. https://www.sekrittheater.com/
Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center
Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is a beautiful place to get married and one of my personal favorites. It’s located in southwest Austin, Texas just off of Loop 1. The grounds are well kept, with flowers everywhere you look! The great thing is you will see flowers year round. However, I personally prefer it in the spring for the crazy amount of wildflowers that bloom all over the property!
Have your ceremony down on the Savannah Meadows Trail and share your first kiss underneath their beautiful stone archway.
Then, send your guests over to the Theme Gardens for cocktail hour while we take your sunset portraits. String lights hang over the Theme Gardens and create a beautiful, romantic setting, especially during blue hour.
It’s dinner time, head over into the courtyard where you’ll have your favorite meals surrounded by all your favorite people. Speeches, toasts, first dances, and lots of champagne are to be had here. If you’re lucky, the full moon may make a guest appearance.
Last but certainly not least, it’s dance party time. The doors of The Great Hall are open to shout and dance to Queen and enjoy your private last dance before your sendoff.
Unfortunately, there are no sparklers permitted at this venue. Not to worry, that doesn’t mean you can’t have the best sendoff ever. Madison and Bobby opted for glow sticks, and it was an absolute blast.

Barr Mansion
Barr Mansion is a historic mansion just fifteen minutes from downtown Austin and offers many unique features, including a ballroom and the most unique wedding day dining experience. I’ve got a special relationship with Barr Mansion – not only did I work here as part of the staff when I was in college, I also shot my very first wedding here back in August of 2017. Let me tell you – it is everything you could ever want in a wedding venue.
The on-site kitchen and chef prepare personalized meals for your wedding day. All of their meals are farm to table, super fresh and exquisitely tasty. The grounds are absolutely stunning – beautiful grassy fields with rose gardens and an amazing ballroom for your reception. This is probably my favorite wedding venue in Austin, just because you get such a unique experience. Not one wedding is the same here. 10/10 recommend!

Hayes Hollow at Hidden Falls
Described as an Oasis of the Texas Hill Country, Hayes Hollow at Hidden Falls is a beautiful wedding venue nestled in the hills of Spring Branch, Texas, about an hour southwest of Austin. It’s modern yet romantic, which makes it perfect for those looking for a classic wedding venue with a bit of a modern twist.
The property is surrounded by ancient oak trees dripping with Spanish Moss and the smell of mesquite fills the air during the fall.
Hayes Hollow is a giant venue and can accommodate up to 225 guests (wow!) It’s the perfect venue if you’re wanting a more remote wedding. The drive is mighty beautiful, too. There are premises on the property for your family and wedding party to stay, a bride and grooms suite, and a giant reception hall with floor to ceiling windows, letting in all that good natural light.
